Content as an adjective is defined as \u201cin a state of peaceful happiness.\u201d As a noun content is defined as a \u201cstate of satisfaction.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I just got off an appointment with my therapist, who is amazing, btw. I\u2019m so blessed I got connected with her! She has been with me on my life journey since March 2021 (when I was in a horribly toxic work place). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I told her I have recently been feeling unmotivated and like I\u2019m not making progress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today she said this is the most calm and content she\u2019s seen me. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is a good thing people! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

She said she knew this would be coming where I get to a good place where I am \u201cjust living\u201d and being present, but feel like I\u2019m not achieving, or even feeling boredom. Really I am content. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

She also said that it feels weird to me as it\u2019s almost like an addiction I\u2019ve had to the adrenaline of constantly achieving for the last 24+ years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Again, this is a good thing that I am content!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So why is being content often seen negatively? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s even defined<\/em> as in a state of happiness. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If we say someone is content it\u2019s often viewed as a negative thing. Like being content is dreadful and that we have no drive or care to progress. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We often may view contentment as a sort of depression. We aren\u2019t on a high or low. We are just being. We have to be content at least some of time as being in a constant state of go-go-go leads to burnout!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oh and I know by now we all have or are currently feeling burnout! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am an over-achiever. I am someone who is goal-oriented. But for now I am going to enjoy this contentment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m in a good place. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I want you to be in a good place too!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And no, unfortunately that doesn\u2019t mean we will be in Bora Bora \ud83d\ude02 \u2013 but in a good place within yourself. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

At peace<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Living in the present<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Happy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The real beauty of that is that can be in Bora Bora or it can be ANYWHERE that you are!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
