You may have read on my last post about celebrating that I celebrated quitting a job!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Say what?!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yes I did! And I still think fondly of quitting that job. It was a toxic environment and not good for my mental health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But why is quitting viewed so negatively? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a group I\u2019m a part of someone recommended a podcast \u201cThe Science of Quitting\u201d on Maya Shankar\u2019s A Slight Change of Plans podcast. It is so good! I highly recommend! It speaks a lot on this topic as well. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We view quitting as a bad thing and negatively. But why? Sometimes quitting can be a good thing. It can take us to something better. It can keep us from harm. Quitting can get us out of a bad situation whether at work or in a relationship. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But, so many times we think we just need to try more or work harder. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sometimes that certainly can be the case. But sometimes the best thing is to quit!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I want to say that quitting is ok! If you talk about quitting something how often is it that it\u2019s like you need to try harder or put more effort into it? Maybe that\u2019s just not the case! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Quitting can be the answer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

And, it can be a good answer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Too often we view quitting as failure. Certainly, there are situations not to quit but sometimes quitting is the best thing to do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maybe you\u2019ve outgrown a job or situation. That\u2019s a good thing! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Again, for the people in the back, quitting can be a good thing. It can lead to bigger and better things!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So I encourage you to keep quitting as an option \u2013 not just the last option but a good option. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
