I\u2019m feeling that it\u2019s time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s time to share a very personal part of my story.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of what I\u2019ve been going through <\/p>\n\n\n\n

And I share, not to gain status or reputation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I share to help others. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even impacting one woman will be worth it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I know I could have used it 18+ years ago<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When I thought I wasn\u2019t enough as I was.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That I wasn\u2019t womanly enough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I wasn\u2019t curvy enough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I wasn\u2019t sexy enough. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sadly I was also dating someone who fed into those feelings and anxieties. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

And I caved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To my feelings of insecurity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My then boyfriend\u2019s comments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And society\u2019s expectations that I wasn\u2019t adequate as I was. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now at 43 I\u2019m finally learning that I am enough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am complete and beautiful as I am. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s still hard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And I still struggle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today I\u2019m 9 days post-op from surgery. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I know it\u2019s what I needed to do. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For my health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To live the life I want<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And reach all the goals I have. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The only way was through.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To undo what I had done over 18 years ago. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s still hard not to judge my appearance and feel less than a woman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yet I am learning to love myself more than I ever have. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sexy doesn\u2019t come from curves, boobs or another person. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Who said bigger is better anyhow?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m not buying into it anymore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My health is #1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I do whole-heartedly believe this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yet when I take off my post-surgery bra<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I still critique. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019ve shed some tears.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s going to take time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I know I will be stronger. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I will be healthier. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I will be 100% me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
